Midlands Busking Festival 2020
Are you an aspiring singer, dancer, musician, juggler, poet or street performer?
You may have what it takes to take part in the Midlands Busking Festival. Busking contestants will battle it out on a Saturday Afternoon in July 2020 and entertain the community.
The term “busking” can be best described as a musical performance in a public space, often for voluntary donations. At Midlands Busking Festival, we like to showcase our Buskers, giving them the opportunity to play in front of the local Longford community and its visitors to the town for the competition, with the chance to win a series of prizes.
We are on the hunt for unique performers, with applications now open! If you think you have what it takes to help bring the town of Edgeworthstown in Co. Longford to life, Apply Now!!
A completed Application Form and entry fee of €10 per act must be submitted in advance of competing. All acts must present themselves from 2.00 p.m. to 3.00 p.m. at the Busking Festival Office where they will be allocated a pitch (a map noting the exact location will be supplied).
There are two age categories in the Busking Competition – Junior (under 15 years) and Senior (15 years and over). I.D. may be requested on the day.
The Junior Competition will commence at 3.30 pm sharp and the top 5 acts will be required to compete in the Final on the Gig Rig at 4.30 pm. Each act will be allocated a 5-minute timeslot (max.) to perform in the final.
The Senior Competition will commence at 5.30 pm sharp and the top 5 acts will be required to compete on the Gig Rig at 6.30 pm. Each act will be allocated a 5-minute timeslot (max.) to perform in the final.
The Winners will be expected to play on the gig rig after the competition.
